TATE TO TATE
LECTURER JOHN IDDON
JOHN IDDON Wednesday 07 February 2018

10.00am - 3.00pm TO BE HELD AT THE BROOKDALE

This Study Day will look at the history of the original Tate Gallery opened in 1897 and the founding of Tate Modern in 2000.

We will discuss some of the original works in Sir Henry Tate's bequest and some of the problems, e.g.floods and bombs.

We will then go on to look at the relationship between Tate Britain and Tate Modern and concentrate on a number of the greatest and most treasured works from both galleries.
