This year your committee has decided to contribute to Venture Arts. The organisation welcomes one hundred and fifty learning disabled and neurodiverse people each week and operates Monday to Sunday. Of these twenty five attend the two Young Persons Art Club sessions. The remainder are eighteen plus. This year we have decided to contribute to the sessions for the older age group.

Some attend purely for the enjoyment of creative activities in a fun and social environment, while others seek to develop their artistic practice further. A wide range of media allows the artists to explore, including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, digital art, photography, animation and sculpture. Our donation will be used to contribute towards these resources. This diverse selection ensures that artists can find the medium or media which best suits their personal expression and artistic ambitions.

Venture Arts provides a range of opportunities for artists to showcase their work both in group and solo exhibitions such as Manchester Open exhibitions and Un Oeuf is Un Oeuf at T. J. Boulting, London. Beyond providing exhibition opportunities Venture Arts actively supports its artists in selling their work and securing paid commissions some of which help to establish their careers as professional artists. Some of their work has been exhibited at the Whitworth Gallery.
